Layla is an urban researcher and consultant based in Belgium. Her work focuses on involuntary displacement, land conflict, post-war reconstruction processes, and spatial transformative justice, spanning Eastern Europe, Syria, the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and the wider Middle East.

Architect, Master in Participatory Architecture. Worked on the role of the local council in reconstruction.

Ammar is a British Academy Research Fellow at University of Oxford. Azzouz is the author of Domicide: Architecture, War and the Destruction of Home in Syria, published by Bloomsbury in 2022.
